The global insurance industry is estimated at US$8,479,000.0 million (about US$8.5 trillion) of gross written premiums in 2025 and is forecast to reach US$11,584,674.1 million by 2031, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 5.3% over 2025-2031. Life insurance is the largest of six mutually exclusive types at US$3,707,000.0 million (43.7% share) in 2025, followed by health insurance (26.5%) and motor insurance (10.5%). Specialty marine and cyber insurance is the fastest-growing type at 6.7% CAGR, and health insurance follows at 6.1%. North America is the largest region at 47.7% of 2025 premiums, and Asia Pacific is second at 24.7%.

The report measures gross written premiums across life, health, motor, property, casualty and liability, and specialty marine and cyber lines. Revenue is carried in value only: no comparable global policy-count or physical volume series exists across jurisdictions and lines, so no volume forecast is included. The 2025 base is anchored to published world premium totals, and segment, regional and country figures are Navadhi estimates built from published industry research.
