The global AI microdrama (short drama) market is estimated at US$2,438.5 million in 2025 and is forecast to reach US$18,346.8 million by 2031, a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 40.0% over 2025-2031. The report covers vertical short-drama series generated or substantially produced with generative AI, including platform advertising, paid viewing and subscription revenue and commissioned brand, education and public-communication series. Revenue from AI video-model tools, human-made series with no generative AI and audio-only series is excluded. Values are model estimates (evidence grade D): the 2025 base rests on a China figure of RMB 16.8 billion and an overseas figure of about US$100 million, both from secondary reports of a single data vendor, and the 2026 step reflects published vendor projections rather than audited results.

The report segments the market by three production types and four applications across five regions. AI Semi-Automatic Generation, AI Full-Process Generation and AI Animated Comic Drama are the types, Entertainment is the largest application (90.0% of 2025 value) and Asia Pacific is the largest region (97.0%). Type, application and regional shares are estimates. No history before 2025 is shown because no AI-specific series exists. The report profiles 18 companies and gives no company market shares because no company-level AI microdrama revenue is published.
